Ezra’s Taste Adventure with Plum Baby

22.22.12

We were lucky enough last week to get a box of new Plum Baby food to try. They’ve just released a range called Taste Adventures and sent us 4 different stage 3 meals to try Ezra on.

Poor old Ez is lactose intolerant so the first thing I loved about the Taste Adventure range was the fact they’re all dairy free but still sound really exciting. Quite often we have to search for dairy free food for Ez and when we do find it it’s just a variation of spaghetti bolognese or shepherds pie. Also the pots are the perfect size for slipping into the nappy bag for lunch when you’re out and about.

Ezra’s favourite of the meals was the Chicken and Chickpea Tagine, he wolfed it down despite it being more textured than he’s used to. It smelt really appealing, so much so that I stole a spoonful and could see why the little guy loved it so much. It was way more flavourful than I was expecting and if I’d had a jacket potato I may have been tempted to steal a pot to heap on top of it!

The Sweet Cape Curry with Beef was Ez’s second favourite, I’d not thought of trying him on curry before but he loved it and I’ll definitely be buying it again. With him trying all these different flavours so young I really think it’ll help him keep an open mind with trying new food in the future.

The pots lasted Ezra for 2 meals as he’s only 8 months old and doesn’t have a huge appetite yet. I find a lot of dairy free baby food tends to be tomato based and looks, and smells, similar regardless of what meal it actually is. It was great to see some amazing variation and let him eat the sort of food we eat for dinner without worrying about the ingredients or portion size.

Plum Baby were also kind enough to send us some snacks for Annie, she loved the Strawberry Cheesecake Oaty Chomps as did I, and the Multigrain and Cheddar Crispy Rings disappeared very quickly. Ez really wanted to try them but I distracted him with the Multigrain and Tomato Crispy Rings and all was well. I loved the Tomato ones too, they tasted fab but weren’t covered in loads of coloured powder like baby ‘crisps’ normally are, so no stained fingers and bibs for us.

I also had a good look around the Plum Baby website and spent a lot of time ‘dressing’ the kids up as an adventurer and an aviator!

I am very grateful to Plum Baby for sending us out this sample pack, we all (even me!) really enjoyed the food and have gone out since to stock up on more meals for Ez and snacks for both of the kiddos.
