Annie’s Playmobil Fairy Fountain

04.4.13

One of Annie’s favourite Christmas presets was a Playmobil fairy fountain complete with working waterfall from my Nan. It came in hundreds of tiny pieces that Jon fixed together, with Annie badgering him the whole time, ‘is it ready yet? Can I play with it?’.

There’s 2 fairies, a Mummy and daughter according to Annie, and a unicorn called, ‘Annie Unicorn’! There is a little pump behind the ornate pond that makes water run out of the dragons mouth and the whole thing just about blew Annie’s mind!

The set was fantastic, and there are few things cuter than listening to Annie playing with it. She constructs elaborate stories, does voices, gets the other animals involved and is, in short, ridiculously cute!

It’s also quite helpful to find out if there is anything she is worried about because she will invariably act out whatever the issue is with her toys. For example she had her reoccurring nightmare last night and this morning after breakfast I heard the Mummy fairy telling the little girl fairy that nightmares were nothing to worry about and that she would make it all ok.

Anie has played with it every day since getting it and it’s certainly one of my favourite gifts that she received. True, I am less than keen on the water that ends up everywhere but if I look on the bright side then it’s forcing helping me be more relaxed about mess and spills.

I foresee a lot of Playmobil in our future, it seems really well put together, is very detailed and encourages such imaginative play from Annie. I can’t help feeling a bit jealous though that I never had a fairy glade with a working dragon fountain as a kiddo.

What were your kids favourite Christmas presents and were you a big a fan as they were?

It’s so much cooler than the Playmobil in our day. I had a hospital set with clip on plaster casts for the adult and child figures :-)

I never had any Playmobil, I aim to make up for that with the kiddos ‘cos it’s fab!
