We are lucky where we live that there are loads of parks and green spaces. When we went on our weekend walk on Sunday we chose the little cycle path behind the supermarket as we’d left the buggy at home and didn’t want anything too tiring for Ez Bear.
Kids really do say the darndest things. Whenever we go anywhere with more than 4 trees Annie has a habit of shouting, ‘wow we’re in a forest’ making us look like proper city mice, bless her!
The kiddos spent ages finding the perfect stick, leaf and conker case and then we all walked around to the play area.
We left the park because it was nearing lunch time and we wanted to avoid, hangry children syndrome (hunger induced grumpiness). On the walk back though Annie spotted a little girl, went over to her in her confident manner and said, ‘hello little girl, you’re my friend’! The kids then spent 20 minutes playing with this girl.
Annie may be confident but she is useless with names. The poor kid she’d befriended ended up being called all sorts of names, none of them her own, not that she seemed to mind.
The girls kept picking up leaves to feed us grown ups while Ez ran around copying his sister.
It was a lovely relaxing weekend walk in some fab early autumnal weather.
