I don’t know a single person who hasn’t said to me in the last 8 months a variation on the phrase, ‘wow, doesn’t Ezra look like his Dad?’. It is true, I have given birth to another child who looks just like their father and hardly anything like me, and if it sounds like I’m bitter about this fact, it’s because I am a little bit!

I thought it would be good to do a post showing just how freakishly alike the two of them are but then I ran into a problem. Jon is very, very camera shy. The only photos I really have of him are of his back, a slight sliver of face at the edge of the frame, him wearing sunglasses or at Christmas opening presents, (and I wouldn’t share those photos of anyone doing that because no-one looks good in ‘family gift opening photos’).

Here I would have shown you a picture of Jonny next to this photo of Ezra, because the little dude looks, “more Jon than Jon”, but because I have no photo to compare it against I’ve just drawn a (rubbish) goatee onto Ez. People who already know what Jon looks like will be amazed at the resemblance and everyone else will just be amused at a baby wearing a beard.

The photos I have of them together where you can see bits of Jon’s face I think still show the similarities…

And I know that my favourite picture of my two guys proves Ez is Jon’s mini-me
Their colouring, eyes, hair, eyelashes, and even their thoughtful looks are the same – squee!

It’ll be interesting to see how Ezra changes as he gets older and if he ends up looking even more like Jon or not.
