point + shoot: Summer Bucket List

9.07.12

This weekend we started working through the summer bucket list. Because of the atrocious weather we only ticked one activity off but it was a good one that included food, muddy puddle jumping and lots of fresh air.

We went to the pick your own farm and got ourselves some strawberries, raspberries and cherries. Annie loves visiting the farm because she gets to sample what she’s picking and invariably there is at least one puddle that she can leap in and out of to her hearts content, today was no exception.

We started off picking the strawberries. As it’s been so wet there were more manky ones than normal but that just meant more fun hunting for gorgeous ripe, red ones. Annie also demonstrated her ‘smile’ face that she tries to fling at me whenever I point the camera her way. When that failed to get a rise she resorted to surly which can double as pensive so again, not a reason for me to stop photographing her, excuse me while I do my evil photographer Mummy laugh, “mwah ha ha ha”.

Today was the first time we’d put Ezra in the baby backpack and it was a huge success, he was very happy being up so high and being able to see more than normal, he also seemed to enjoy it when Jon ‘lollopped’ and made him jiggle about, tiny thrill seeker.

After picking our berries we walked over to the field where they ‘grow the muddy puddles’. There was a good crop thanks to all the rain and Annie jumped about until her boots started to fill up with water. Her love of muddy puddles is down to Peppa Pig and shows no signs of diminishing, I love watching her being a ‘proper kiddo’ splashing and jumping despite having wet knees and soggy socks.

Then we had a quick browse around the little on site shop where I bought the most amazing garlic crackers and Annie chose some cherries. She carried them all around the shop and out to the car like they were precious gems, it was hilarious to watch. Of course as soon as we got home she decided that there was no way on earth she was going to actually eat any cherries but I didn’t mind because it’s all the more for me that way.

What did you get up to this weekend?

Linking up with Lou’s Point + Shoot, pop over and have a look you won’t be disappointed…

Strawberries – Part 2

2.06.12

Ezra had his first taste of strawberries this week after Annie picked masses of them, He was dubious about them so I put them in the Nuby Net and that seemed to make the prospect of eating them even weirder for him.

He not only seems to dislike them, he appeared rather disappointed with the whole endeavour!

Food Trickery

30.08.11

The kiddo isn’t very picky about food but she is adverse to trying new things, so in order to sidestep this I have resorted to tricking her using her obsession with Winnie the Pooh.

I gave her an empty honey pot and told her she could put some on her breakfast to eat like Pooh Bear does – and wouldn’t you know it, it worked like a charm. She also eats carrots much better now because that’s what rabbit eats.

I wonder how else I can twist her favourite things to my own nefarious ends ;-)
